As the 2023 Melbourne Storm squad prepare for the Club’s 23rd run toward ultimate glory, take a look back at Storm’s Finals moments of the past that have created the inspiring legacy our current players will chase over the coming weeks.
Storm and the Roosters have had their fair share of memorable moments when coming head-to-head in finals and it was an unsung hero in the 2015 Qualifying Final that proved the most unlikely of match winners.
With Storm only narrowly ahead 14-12 and the game well and truly in the balance, it was a rare try from unlikely match-sealer Tim Glasby that would prove the difference, with the prop putting Storm ahead with just 10-minutes remaining in the contest.
As tall-timbers Matt Duffie and Daniel Tupou went aerial in pursuit of a Cooper Cronk cross-field kick, the ball spilt out into the path of Glasby, who scooped up the ball and dived over for just his second try of the season.
That try would prove pivotal, with the Roosters securing possession from the short kick off and scoring just two minutes, Storm ultimately holding on by just two-points.
