Stats that Matter: Magic Round v Rabbitohs

Check out the stats that matter from Storm's Magic Round clash with the Rabbitohs!

2 firsts

Reimis Smith and Bronson Garlick not only brought home Storm’s two tries of the night but also landed two achievements of their own.

After a season-ending pectoral injury in early 2022, Smith scored his first try of 2023 in the Magic Round hit-out.

Rookie Garlick also went on to reign in his first-ever NRL career try late in the second half.

Garlick has been making steady progress since his debut in Round 1 of this year, accumulating personal successes along the way.

31 tackle breaks

While the skies above Suncorp Stadium were clear, the Melbourne squad were slippery on-field, recording 31 tackle breaks Saturday night.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Nick Meaney and Smith all broke through four tackles each, with another 11 players running through South Sydney's defensive efforts.

92.25% effective tackle rate

Clocking in over 350 tackles in Round 10, Storm defence worked hard ensuring 92.25% were effective in bringing the Rabbitohs to the ground.

Harry Grant once again topped the Club charts with 53 tackles at a 98.15% efficiency.
