NRL Magic Round Brisbane sellout

The National Rugby League (NRL) has announced that all three days of Magic Round Brisbane have sold out.

Following Saturday’s matches selling out this morning, the final tickets to Friday and Sunday were sold this afternoon, ensuring there will be record crowds for the three-day event at Suncorp Stadium.

“This will be the biggest Magic Round yet,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.

“Not only will there be well over 130,000 through the gates over the course of the next few days, more than 40 percent of the ticket holders will be from outside Queensland.

“This is a phenomenal result for the game. For the first time ever, all three days have sold out.”

Tourism and Sports Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said Brisbane was geared up for the city’s biggest celebration of rugby league yet.

“This demonstrates that Brisbane and Suncorp Stadium is the true spiritual home of Magic Round.

“Magic Round is a Queensland innovation, made for Queenslanders in rugby league heartland that produces an atmosphere that no other event can match.

“A full house for each of the three days will make it a truly magic weekend in Brisbane.”

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said: “The sell-out crowd says it all – footy fans love this event, and many opt to make it a magic weekend in Brisbane.

“Each year, this homegrown throwdown gets bigger and better as more fans flock to the city for a festival of footy like no other.

“Brisbane is buzzing and will be on show this weekend, with many of our hotels full, and visitors and locals alike soaking up our warm autumn weather, famous outdoor lifestyle and booming restaurant and rooftop bar scene.”
