Melbourne Storm have taken another step toward establishing its Gender Action Plan after joining forces with equidi, a world-first platform helping organisations to close the gender pay gap.
Following the official launch in Melbourne on Thursday night, equidi welcomed Storm as the first sporting partner to sign up to the platform.
Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said it was important for the workplace to provide fair and equitable opportunities for all staff.
“equidi gives us the tools to not only assess and measure any gender pay gap, but also to put in place the strategies and provide support in developing a Gender Action Plan,” Rodski said.
Most high-performing organisations are built on having a diverse talent pool and providing its people with the same opportunities to grow and be rewarded fairly.

“With the formation of our Women of Storm program this year, we celebrate the contribution of women in our two elite sporting organisations, while giving voice to the women and men fighting for positive change, inclusiveness and equality. equidi is another important step to building on our Women of Storm program in 2023 and beyond.
Storm Chairman, Matt Tripp, said: “We’re so proud to be first in partnering with equidi on addressing gender inequity. We’re committed to leveling the balance and we’re confident that together with equidi, we’ll have the right data, tools and resources to direct our energy to make change where it’s needed most. We’re looking forward to not only seeing the change, but actively leading the change in this country.
equidi CEO and Founder, Natalie Flynn, said: “I’m so proud to be working with Melbourne Storm on leveling up the ledger on gender in sport. I’m thrilled to be partnering with a team that’s committed to leading the change we all want to see and creating a future we can all look forward to.”
The partnership with equidi will further Storm’s progress in developing a Gender Action Plan which has been supported by the Victorian Government’s Preventing Violence Against Women Through Sport initiative.
With the support of the Victorian Government, Storm is partnering with Our Watch and the NRL in delivering the ‘Storm Stand Up, Speak Out, Take Action’ initiative that will see programs and education delivered to grassroots rugby league clubs in Victoria as well as NRL Victoria and Storm players, staff and coaches.
Our Watch will also assist Storm in developing a Gender Action Plan which will support the Club to effectively facilitate change, increase understanding, and equip key staff with the knowledge and skills to embed gender equality.
