David Nofoaluma: Season in Review

Joining Melbourne Storm mid-way through the season on a loan deal from Wests Tigers, winger David Nofoaluma provided a boost to Storm’s injury-hit outside back ranks.

With a decade of NRL experience and having already scored eight tries, 7 line breaks, 1,551 run metres and a 80% tackle efficiency expectations were high for experienced Nofoaluma.

Becoming Storm’s 224th player in Round 21 at AAMI Park, Nofoaluma was quickly embraced by the Storm family for his perseverance and excited attitude. His first try in the purple jersey shortly followed in Round 22, alongside a double in Round 23.

With only six appearances as a Storm player, the winger managed an impressive season summary, recording 4 tries, 4 line breaks, 36 tackle breaks, 28 tackles and 802 run metres.

Now sitting on a career 99 tries, Nofoaluma shows no sign of slowing down.

The cherry on top of the winger’s short stay in Melbourne culminated in the opportunity to play in his first finals. After 180 career appearances over 10 seasons, Nofoaluma was named in the number two jersey to take on the Canberra Raiders in Week 1 of the 2022 NRL Finals series.

As he returns to the Wests Tigers to enter his 11th first-grade season, Nofoaluma will now forever be part of the Melbourne Storm family.
