Stats that Matter: Round 21 v Titans

Check out the stats that matter from Storm’s Round 21 win over the Gold Coast Titans at AAMI Park!

20

Once again, Cameron Munster brought his all to the AAMI Park field scoring 20 of Storm’s 32 points over the Titans in a masterclass from the playmaker.

Returning to the fullback role in which he begun his NRL career, Munster went on to record 3 tries, 4 goals, 9 tackle breaks, 2 line breaks, 1 line break assist and 19 runs for 252 metres on Friday night.

1,479

After 1,479 days since his last appearance in the purple jersey on July 14 in 2018, Young Tonumaipea made his return one to remember.

Recording an impressive 80-minute performance, the Victorian native went on to land Storm’s final try of the game at minute 79, furthering the team’s lead. Unable to wipe the smile off his face, Young has solidified his place as a welcome addition to the Club’s 2022 squad.

First for everything

Cooper Johns late call-up to Melbourne’s run-on side marked the first time the back pulled on the purple jersey in front of the purple pride at AAMI Park.
With 9 career NRL appearances under his belt, the first during the COVID-impacted 2020 season, Johns’ appointment to five-eighth earned praise from coach Craig Bellamy as his best performance so far.

Double milestone

Jesse and Kenny Bromwich brought up their combined 500th game in style, with Kenny, the younger of the pair, going over the line to score Storm’s second try of the evening.

Jahrome Hughes also celebrated his 100th Storm game in front of a home crowd against the Gold Coast Titans, his debut club.
