50 for Papi

Ryan Papenhuyzen will play his 50th NRL/Storm game on Saturday night - a milestone that's taken a little longer to reach than expected after injury setbacks this season.

Paps debuted in round four, 2019 and immediately cemented his place in our first-grade side.

Lil' Papi flashback:

Storm Player 194 - Ryan Papenhuyzen

He earned cult hero status that season (feels like five years ago...) when he sprinted 85m to score the opening try during our last-gasp 24-22 win over the Tigers in round 10.

Once considered our third-string fullback, he was awarded the Clive Churchill medal for best afield in last year's Grand Final win.

Paps has scored 28 tries in his 49 appearances and averages 158 running metres a game.

The 23-year-old was elevated to our leadership group this season.
