Statement: Cooper Cronk

Melbourne Storm has issued the following statement regarding the position of Cooper Cronk within the club.

“Firstly, Cooper Cronk is a man of outstanding character and integrity. When Cooper’s agreements were being crafted with both clubs after he retired, we were fully aware of his role with both organisations. They are very different roles and roles that we are 100% comfortable with. As well as his major corporate role at the Storm, Cooper’s mentoring role with our halves is very different to that of his work with the Roosters."

"The mentoring role he fulfills here is unstructured and informal in our expectations of his time. We are extremely comfortable with the arrangement and even more so with the man himself,” Storm General Manager Football, Frank Ponissi said.

“Cooper is not only one of this club’s greats as a player but also whose integrity and professionalism is without question. In fact, I haven’t met anyone with higher integrity in the game. He is both highly passionate and committed to both clubs that he represented with distinction as a player and in the separate roles he now fulfils,” head coach, Craig Bellamy, said.
