Bromwich: 'We try to block out any outside noise'

Co-vice captain Jesse Bromwich will drop the 'co' this weekend, but says his fellow vice cap is still leading by example, even while sidelined with a calf injury.

"Dale (Finucane) is so impressive in the way he applies himself, he’s just putting in the work like he always does," Jesse told media on Wednesday.

"You wouldn’t know he’s missing out on a finals game, he trains like he plays and he always has a great attitude.

"He’s a really integral part of our team and he’s doing a great job on the sidelines, keeping our spirits up."

When asked to name a standout forward in season 2020, Bromwich didn't hesitate to answer.

"Nelson Asofa-Solomona is starting to play some really good football," Bromwich said.

He had a quiet start to the year but I’m expecting him to be our X factor for the finals. His size and speed is so impressive.

On the downsides to life in the bubble, Bromwich said he won't miss eating with his boss everyday.

"As good as it has been here, it’s just not home," he said.

"For me personally, I have three kids in a hotel room and they’re going crazy.

"We really can’t complain about much though, because back home in Victoria everyone is doing it way tougher than us.

We have our families and we have each other. People in Victoria - and particularly in Melbourne - have been isolated for months, so I don't like to complain.

"I will say that I’ve seen too much of Brandon Smith," he added with a laugh.

"I’m probably looking forward to not seeing my boss every day - it will be good to not see Craig every day and at every meal."
