Team List - Round 20 v Dragons

It will be a new-look Melbourne Storm squad that makes the trip to Sydney to face St George Illawarra in the final round of the 2020 NRL season on Sunday.

Judda Turahui and Trent Loiero drop out of the squad for tomorrow's match.

Original story continues.

With second spot on the ladder secured and a possible short turnaround to next week’s finals game ahead, Storm has elected not to risk any player currently dealing with a niggling injury after 17 consecutive weeks of football.

The range of changes includes debuts for Ricky Leutele and Aaron Pene, who will become the seventh and eighth players to play their first games for Storm this year.

Leutele, who joined Storm last month, will start in the centres along with Paul Momirovski, who returns from a finger injury which has kept him sidelined since win against the Broncos in round 11.

Back-rower Pene will make his Storm debut off the interchange bench.

Storm’s round 20 line-up also features the return of fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen after a two-week absence due to an achilles complaint and a second NRL appearance for young halfback Cooper Johns, who will partner Ryley Jacks in the halves.

Max King will celebrate his 50th NRL match by being a member of Melbourne’s starting forward pack for the first time while State of Origin prop Christian Welch is back after being suspended and stood down for the home games against North Queensland and Wests Tigers.

Dale Finucane (calf) will be kept off the field for another week, but is expected to return for week one of the finals, along with the other Storm regulars who are sitting out this weekend.
