Melbourne Storm and My Local Broker launched Storm Money in September 2020, offering a fast and simple loan process to Storm members, fans and everyday Melbournians.
Storm Money connects its customers with local brokers, who provide personable experiences while doing all the legwork to source a suitable loan for the client, by understanding their unique goals and concerns.
The venture is in alignment with the Melbourne Storm club values – family, accountability, respect, hard work and passion – and committed to making borrowing money easy, for everyone.
While Storm Money has been well received, the Melbourne Storm creative team knew the brand needed to standout in a saturated market. That’s something the team is especially familiar with, given Storm is the only professional rugby league club in AFL heartland.
Rebrand
Enter the rebrand. The objective: make Storm Money recognisable in its own right and appeal to a broader audience, while remaining familiar to Storm supporters.
It was important for Storm Money to have a different aesthetic (to differentiate the product from the club’s football content) but it also needed to tie-in with the established Storm branding.
Vibrant illustrations were used to show the diversity of the Storm Money target market, without alienating the existing Melbourne Storm fan base. These illustrations show, rather than tell, the brand narrative and represent the energy of the brand.
The Storm Money website has been completely overhauled, with a layout reflecting UX design best practice. The brand voice and tone has also evolved, now playful, personable, fun and friendly.
All written copy is easy to comprehend and aligned with the vibrant design – making for an easier read.The website will be the most complete resource for potential customers seeking information about Storm Money, and it now conveys the vitality of the brand.
Storm Money will continue to strive to become market leaders in customer experience, as they work in partnership with My Local Broker to help clients find the best deal on a home, car or personal loan.
