Melbourne Storm Statement

Melbourne Storm has this evening spoken with its squad on the NRL’s decision to resume the 2020 season on May 28.

Initial planning has begun and will continue next week.

There is still detail to consider and we will continue to take advice from government and health authorities through this process.

Our number one priority through this period has always been the health and safety of our players, coaches and staff. This will not shift and any decision we make on the future of the club will be taken with their interests in the mind, first and foremost.

We have been in regular contact with the Victorian Government and, while we are conscious they have many other priorities at the moment, we will continue to have discussions with them after Easter about the NRL plans to recommence the season.

Acknowledgement of Country

Melbourne Storm respect and honour the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
