Storm, Grill’d announce new partnership

Melbourne Storm today announced Victorian-based burger experts Grill’d as a new premier partner of the club, locking down a full suite of sponsors for its 2020 jersey.

Storm CEO Dave Donaghy welcomed Grill’d to the Storm family, saying the partnership presented some exciting opportunities for the club after signing a four-year deal.

"Grill’d has been a disruptor in the marketplace for some time now and is always looking at ways to improve and innovate, which appealed to our club given our plans for growth and innovation in the years ahead," Donaghy said.

"We are excited about what the future holds and to partner with a Victorian-based business with a passion for its people and the community."

"Storm is in a strong position now off the field with a solid foundation for us to grow and provide our team with the best possible chance of performing well on the field."

Grill’d will occupy the top back position of the Storm jersey as part of the new partnership, while also receiving match day, digital, social and innovative content benefits with Storm, reaching one of the largest and most engaged sporting audiences in the country.

Grill’d has been Australia’s local healthy burger expert for 16 years, serving up healthy burgers without nasties like artificial colours, flavours and preservatives and packing them full of flavour by using locally sourced, quality ingredients.

The much-loved burger brand’s Founder and Managing Director, Simon Crowe, said the partnership with Storm celebrated Grill’d’s core values of being natural and sustainable, and committed to its loyal fans.

"We’re looking forward to partnering with Storm - one of the NRL’s most successful, professional and respected teams - for 2020 and beyond."

"Turns out there’s some big healthy burger lovers in the Melbourne Storm and, like Storm, we are a healthy role model in the community and want to help people understand the importance of eating and living well," Crowe said.

"By partnering with the club, we hope to engage with their dedicated supporter base and build awareness of Grill’d as a 100% natural, sustainable and community-minded burger brand.

"This is our first major sporting partnership.  We are excited to be taking this leap of faith with Storm and for the opportunities that lie ahead.

"It’s been great to see the Storm family so enthusiastic to have us on board and we’re excited to be fuelling their matches with our healthy burgers. Plans for a special ‘Storm Burger’ might even be in the works."
