Christian Welch has all kinds of possibilities ahead of him in 2020 but he refuses to look too far ahead.

Welch is three weeks into full training and making good strides from a second knee reconstruction and he knows he will need at least four to six weeks of work before being considered for game time.

The 25-year-old had some big suitors chasing his signature last year as he made his Queensland State of Origin debut and continued to play a key role for the Storm, but he ended up taking up his player option with Melbourne for this season once he injured his knee.

So this campaign is the chance to prove again that he is among the best props in the game, and about helping the Storm chase another premiership – something that has become elusive in the seasons since their 2017 triumph, which Welch missed because of his first knee injury.
