World Cup Nines numbers announced

Storm players will be wearing some familiar and unfamiliar numbers in the Downer Rugby League World Cup Nines starting on Friday.

For the Australians, Josh Addo-Carr will be in the number two jersey, while Ryan Papenhuyzen will pull on the number 13.

Suliasi Vunivalu will start in the number 5 jersey for Fiji, with Isaac Lumelume wearing number eight.

Justin Olam will wear the number four jersey for PNG.

Marion Seve will line up for Samoa, who are yet to allocate their jersey numbers.

Rules for the Nines comp include nine players per side, nine minutes per half, unlimited interchange and five tackles per set.

Sin bins are three minutes rather than 10 and conversions are drop kicks, with a 25-second shot clock. 20/40 kicks will be introduced, as well as 40/20s.

Five points, rather than four, are awarded for a try scored in the Telstra 5G Bonus Zone between the goal posts and drawn matches are decided by a golden try.
