Melbourne Storm today announced Federal Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, as the male No.1 ticketholder for the 2020 season.

“It’s great to have Josh on board as our number one ticket holder,” Storm CEO Dave Donaghy said.

“We have great relationships with all levels of Government, local, state and federal, and this will continue to strengthen over time.

“From the moment we spoke to Josh about the opportunity, he has been very keen to get involved in the club and there was genuine passion and excitement about the role. Josh is like most Victorians – he loves his sport and will be right at home here at AAMI Park.”

Before accepting the position, the Treasurer spent time at Storm HQ during the 2019 season, attending training and at games meeting players, staff and commercial partners.

“I’m really honoured to be Melbourne Storm’s No.1 ticketholder.  What struck me when I first walked into the club was what a warm and family friendly club it is,” Mr Frydenberg said.

“It was terrific to be here for Cam Smith’s 400th game and even better still to beat the Prime Minister’s Sharks.

“I know 2019 didn’t end the way we all hoped but, like most of us, we know Craig and Dave will have the club ready to get stuck into 2020.”

Storm last had an appointed number one ticket a decade ago, when former Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, was announced as the Club’s first ever female number one ticket holder, with Molly Meldrum the last male equivalent.

Donaghy said the Club would announce details of its female number one ticketholder in the coming weeks.
