Storm hits Geelong

Storm will travel down the highway next month to host the New Zealand Warriors at Kardinia Park, bringing elite rugby league to Geelong for the first time since 2013.

The trial match will be played under lights on February 22, giving locals in Geelong and the Bellarine a chance to watch Friday night football in their own backyard.

The annual ANZAC Day clash between Storm and the Warriors is a blockbuster game on the Melbourne sporting calendar and typically fans can expect a tight tussle when these teams meet, regardless of ladder positions.

While Storm handed the Warriors a convincing 50-10 defeat in last year's ANZAC Day match, it was a hard-fought battle when they met again in round 19, with only a six-point margin at the final siren.

The pre-season clash will be the first game held in Geelong since Storm faced the Canberra Raiders at Simonds Stadium in 2013.
