UPDATE: Promising signs for injured skipper

Following Melbourne Storm's win last night against the Parramatta Eels, the Club can provide the following injury update on Saturday.

Cameron Smith left the field in the 35th minute after suffering a spasm in his back while being tackled. He will be furthered assessed again on Monday and monitored during the week by medical staff and at this stage is a chance of playing next Saturday against the Gold Coast Titans.

Suliasi Vunivalu (hamstring), Nelson Asofa-Solomona (high ankle sprain) and Brandon Smith (knee) will all have scans on Monday after allowing their injuries to settle over the weekend. At early assessment, its expected the three players will miss the final two rounds of the home and away season (games against the Titans and Panthers), with the results of scans to determine their availability for Finals.

The Club will provide a further update on Monday afternoon on Vunivalu, Asofa-Solomona and Brandon Smith following scans.
