Falcons flex muscle in finals push

Sunshine Coast moved their way into the Intrust Super Cup top six with a nail-biting 15-14 win against Northern Pride.

The Falcons trailed 10-nil at the break before bouncing back by scoring three of the next four tries.

Ryley Jacks then stepped up to slot a field goal in the 74th minute to give the home side a narrow victory.

Lachlan Timm was instrumental up the middle for the Falcons in the second half to help swing the momentum while fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen continued to impress.

"Ryan has been our most improved Storm player to be quite honest," Falcons coach Craig Ingebrigsten said.

"Every week we get more and more value out of Ryan and he has added that goal kicking to his armoury as well now.

"He has been really good for us, out of all the Storm players he has been the most improved."

SUNSHINE COAST FALCONS 15 (Jye Ballinger, Dane Hogan, Ryan Papenhuyzen tries; Ryan Papenhuyzen goal; Ryley Jacks field goal) def NORTHERN PRIDE 14 (Javid Bowen, Shawn Bowen tries; Jack Campagnolo 3 goals) at Stafford Park, Hervey Bay.
