Big boys lead the bounce back

When your forwards fire you have one hand on the two points.

Melbourne were simply brilliant for the first 20 minutes and it was on the back of the unstoppable force that was Jesse Bromwich and Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

The Kiwi prop duo set up their win and then spent the second half putting their exclamation point on it.

Bromwich ran for 147 metres, Asofa-Solomona a game-high 150 metres, leaving their skipper pleased as can be after the game.

“It is always good when the big men are going forward… it certainly makes my job easier,” Cameron Smith said.

“Those two boys really got our team away to a great start tonight and they played a lot more like they did last year.

“Tonight was a nice reminder to themselves about their capabilities and what they can do for this footy side.

“If they play well and outplay the opposition, there are very little occasions where our team gets beaten.”
