Storm and Starlight continue their proud partnership

Melbourne Storm is extremely proud to announce the Starlight Children’s Foundation will continue as the Club’s major charity partner for the second consecutive year.

The partnership will evolve after Starlight’s successful first season last year as part of the Storm family.

Storm are delighted to work closely with Starlight who are dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children, adolescents and their families through a range of programs, including wish granting and a Starlight Express Rooms in every major children’s hospital in Australia.

While Storm players can make fans happy on the field, there is a significant motivation from the group to make a real difference off the field. This partnership with Starlight provides the ideal platform to do that.

Starlight kids Joel, Harry and Sammi visited the team on Tuesday and were introduced to the entire squad before training.

That experience will be one of many the Club will be looking to provide as part of the continued partnership.

Starlight continues to shine in Storm hearts

Storm players will be making appearances in the Starlight Express Room throughout the season.

The Club will also be holding a dedicated Starlight game in 2018 when they play the Canberra Raiders on July 28.

“At Melbourne Storm we understand our role is bigger than just playing football games,” Storm CEO Dave Donaghy said.

“It is about making a real difference in people’s lives and when we have the opportunity to do that off the field we will be there.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation and look forward to welcoming Starlight kids big and small into our Storm family.”

Starlight State Partnerships Manager of Victoria Lee White expressed the foundation’s excitement about continuing as part of the Storm family.

“Starlight are delighted to be entering the second year of our partnership with Melbourne Storm.

“We are proud to have Billy Slater as a Starlight Ambassador and excited to be celebrating his iconic 300th game in our 30th year.  Like Storm we are home grown and we are Australia’s broadest reaching children’s charity.”

“Last year with the support of partners like Melbourne Storm and their community we were able to create over 522,000 Starlight experiences and we look forward to creating more positive experiences together in 2018.”
