This was the season in which Glasby announced himself to the rugby league world.

Prior to 2017 those within the four walls of Melbourne knew exactly what Glasby was capable of and the unassuming prop finally received the recognition he deserved when he made his Origin debut for Queensland in Game II.

He retained his spot in the side for the series decider, helping the Maroons to turn a 1-nil series deficit into a famous victory.

The Origin accolade did not deter him from his Storm duties, with the workhorse backing up from his Queensland debut to play in his side’s golden point thriller against the Roosters just three days later.

Glasby started six games in the front row for Melbourne though predominantly came off the bench where he provided enourmous impact, averaging 10 more metres per game than he did last season.

The 28-year-old missed a total of four games due to Origin commitments and having his workload managed on the eve of the finals.

That rest paid off with Glasby’s trademark defence helping the Storm dominate throughout the Finals series on the way to premiership glory.
