Melbourne will take on North Queensland in the 2017 NRL Grand Final.

The Cowboys defeated the Roosters on Saturday night to book their place in the premiership decider.

The two sides will lock horns at ANZ Stadium next Sunday at 7.30pm.

Storm defeated the Cowboys in both of their previous meetings this season though both were hard fought contests.

The first was in thrilling fashion during the Origin period, as youngster Brodie Croft slotted a field goal to seal a 23-22 win.

It was a more emphatic result up in Townsville in Round 22, as Melbourne were able to runaway 26-8 victors after several injuries hit the Cowboys.

However despite finishing eighth on the NRL ladder North Queensland have been in incredible form this finals series, knocking out the Sharks, Eels and Roosters on their way to the Grand Final.

This will be the third consecutive Grand Final involving at least one of these two teams.
