See the critical numbers behind Storm’s victory over the Cowboys in Townsville on Friday night.

3

At the double! Melbourne’s wing combination of Josh Addo-Carr and Suliasi Vunivalu bagged a double each on Friday night.

This latest effort was the third time in season 2017 that the wingers have scored two tries each in the one game.

3 (Part Two)

Returning to the side following a week off due to concussion, Billy Slater proved his worth in gold.

The champion fullback provided three try assists in the win, twice linking up with his right winger Vunivalu with precise kicks to help Melbourne on their way to a strong victory.

70

Tries. That’s the number Will Chambers took his career tally to in the 27th minute on Friday night when he crossed the white line.

The number was particularly significant for the centre as it took him into 4th position on the list of all time try scorers at Melbourne Storm, surpassing barnstorming winger Marcus Bai.

574

In a contest where both sides were guilty of committing errors in attack, Melbourne’s kicking game stood firm.

Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith made 574 metres with the boot, eclipsing the Cowboys 413 metres. The territorial advantage went a long way in helping Storm claim a valuable two premiership points.
