The Thunderbolts have returned from the bye ready to stake their claim for an NYC finals berth.

They currently sit two games outside the top eight and will face a Raiders side this week who sit a spot above them in 11th.

Storm’s Under-20s had their difficulties nullifying the opposition’s attack before the bye, having conceded more than 30 points in their last three games.

That will now doubt be their focus area heading into their finals push.

“We want to show a lot more intent, especially on our defensive end,” Thunderbolts coach Eric Smith said.

“Our last couple of games we had a few heavy loses which has been a bit like us last year, we’ve been right in contests with most teams.

“One of the good things we have done this year has been to compete really hard so we are looking to make sure we are getting back to that part of our game again.

“That is what is going to give us the chance to win the game this weekend and hopefully a few more towards the back end.”
