He is only 54 games into his NRL career but Felise Kaufusi knows he will take on added responsibility this week.

In terms of experience Kaufusi is still developing but when Storm runs onto AAMI Park against the Eels this Saturday night he will find himself as one of the team's most seasoned campaigners.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation for Craig Bellamy's side this season.

A promotion to the starting side in the second row, Kaufusi is one of only three Storm players to have played every game of the 2017 season.

With Melbourne set to make at least six changes for this weekend due to Origin, a certified starter like Kaufusi knows he needs to be a guiding hand for the youngsters coming in.

"I think we've done that really well this year with Jesse Bromwich and Dale Finucane taking a big leadership role and leading by example on the field," Kaufusi said.

"I feel a bit old especially with some of the young guys coming through.

"I'm just trying to lead by example through my actions and training and then transferring that to the game.

"It is always tough having those Origin boys out but I guess it is just up to us emerging leaders to really step forward and help those young fellas coming through."

Storm currently sit two games clear on top of the NRL ladder.

They take on an eighth-placed Eels side looking to cement themselves inside the top eight.

Kick-off at AAMI Park is at 7.30pm.
