Brandon Smith will tonight become the 182nd player to pull on the purple jersey for the Melbourne Storm.

Smith, who turned 21 on Wednesday, will make his NRL and Storm debut off the bench.

He arrived in Melbourne during the off-season after coming through the Under-20s system at the North Queensland Cowboys.

The tough, gritty playmaker has represented the Junior Kiwis and was part of the New Zealand squad in the build up to last month’s ANZAC Test.

Smith’s NRL call up comes after his outstanding form for feeder side Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Queensland Cup competition.

We return to AAMI Park on June 2. Watch us take on the Knights!
