The Easts Tigers have slipped out of the Intrust Super Cup top four following their narrow 19-12 defeat to Souths Logan Magpies.

Easts lead for much of the game before their opponents ran in two tries inside the final half hour to snatch the points in a high-quality game of football.

A poor completion rate of 64 per cent again came back to haunt the Tigers.

Storm players Mark Nicholls and Dean Britt were in action for the home side with Britt continuing to build on his development from week to week.

“Dean played the first 40 minutes straight which in the middle is a great achievement,” Easts coach Scott Sipple said.

“He looked pretty dangerous with the ball too, he ran for over 120 metres from 11 carries.

“Dean has great footwork, he just needs to keep playing games, playing consistent and wait for his opportunity there.”

Souths Logan Magpies 19 (Aotealofa Tuimavave, Jamayne Isaako, Joe Boyce tries; Jamayne Isaako 3 goals; Matthew Minto field goal) def Easts Tigers 12 (Shane Neumann, Adam Crear tries; Adam Crear 2 goals) at Suzuki Stadium, Langlands Park.

We return to AAMI Park on June 2. Watch us take on the Knights!
