Easts Tigers have continued their impressive start to the season, defeating the Blackhawks 35-22 in Townsville.

The found themselves training by eight points at half-time but three tries in the final 23 minutes saw them overrun their more fancied opponents.

Easts have now beaten premiership contenders Redcliffe and Townsville in back-to-back weeks.

Former Thunderbolt and young prop Charlie Galo was impressive against for the visitors.

‘Charlie had some good carries and it was a good learning curve for him,” Easts coach Scott Sipple said.

“He loves the contact, the tougher and more physical it is, he enjoys it. I think he has taken the challenge on playing against men, especially the physicality of it.

“He has a tough test again this week against Ipswich.”

Easts Tigers 35 (Steven Thorpe, Linc Port, Jarrod McInally, Adam Crear, Gerard McCallum, Conor Carey tries; Billy Walters 5 goals; Brodie Croft field goal) def Townsville Blackhawks 22 (Jonathon Reuben 3, Ty Carucci tries; Carlin Anderson 3 goals) at Jack Manski Oval.
