Vincent Leuluai and Joe Stimson will tonight pull on the purple jersey for the very first time.

The young pair have been named on the bench for tonight’s Round 2 clash against the Warriors.

Leuluai will become Storm player No.178 after joining the Club from the Sydney Roosters midway through last season.

The 21-year-old forward played two NRL games for Sydney last year.

For Stimson, Storm player No.179, this will be his first game at NRL level.

The Temora-born second-rower is a product of Melbourne Storm’s development system after spending two years in the Thunderbolts Under-20’s program.

The 21-year-old was then promoted to the full-time NRL squad in 2016 where he enjoyed a stellar season at reserve grade level for feeder club Sunshine Coast Falcons.

This culminated in Stimson winning Storm’s inaugural Feeder Player of the Year award.

Both Stimson and Leuluai showed tremendous promise at this year’s 2017 Auckland Nines tournament.

They will be exciting players for the future and tonight marks the first step on their purple journey.

Be there for our first home game of 2017 at AAMI Park against the Broncos in Round 3!
