Any first game is a special memory for a player. For Ryley Jacks, to be able to share it with his family and parents made Friday night even more memorable.

“They were worse than me (more nervous),” Jacks joked ahead of his first-grade debut.

“I told them to stay calm, it was good seeing them after the game.

“That was a very special moment for us.

“There’s been a lot of hard work to get here so it was good.”

Jacks and Storm were faced with an already difficult task in wet and windy conditions on Friday night as torrential rain during the second half made the slog even tougher.

“I feel pretty buggered at this point, that was a really tough game,” Jacks explained post match.

“I didn’t expect it to be that tough but I’m buzzing that we got the win and so glad I made my debut.”
