The entire Storm family will come together on the Sunshine Coast next weekend.

Melbourne Storm will head north to host a trial match against the New Zealand Warriors on February 11 at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

The Under-20s Thunderbolts and feeder side Sunshine Coast Falcons will each play curtain raisers prior to the NRL trial while the Sunshine Coast Lightning will also play their own practice matches on the Friday night and Sunday.

It will be a carnival of sport in the region and one the entire Club cannot wait for.

“We’ve got our 20s here and feeder Club so it is a big event for us,” Cameron Munster said.

“Our full squad is coming down for this trial so we will see how we go in our first, full game against the Warriors.

“There will be some inexperienced and experienced players playing in the game and there are obviously a few guys fighting for spots in the squad at the moment.”

The addition of the Lightning to the Storm family is a sensational one, with the Suncorp Super Netball season set to kick off on February 18.

Next weekend will be a great chance for the two contrasting sports to come together as one Club.

“It is really exciting times for women’s sport and for us as well to get a bit of a gauge of how they go about their sport,” Munster said.

“It will be exciting times for the Sunshine Coast next week and we can’t wait to be here.”
