The training will be important on Storm’s pre-season camp but the team bonding that will be created is just as crucial.

The entire playing squad will spend the next two weeks together at Geelong Grammar as their pre-season goes to the next level.

Long days and tough training sessions will consume much of their next fortnight.

However given eight new players have come into the team, nearly a quarter of the list, the camp will also provide the ideal setting for their 2017 group to gel together.

“I just think you can get so much work in during these camps,” Jesse Bromwich said.

“You can really set yourself up for the year here. All we do is train, eat, sleep.

“There are a couple of fresh faces, a few young boys and they’ve been training really well.”

Storm captain Cameron Smith has just begun his 16th NRL pre-season and knows this time of year is crucial to any team’s chances of success in 2017.

“It is just about working hard, keeping our heads in at training when it gets tough," Smith said.

“We’ve still got about six weeks until Round 1 so forming some combinations is really important. Myself, Cooper and Jesse only just came back to join the squad a few days ago.

“I think we are in a good spot at the moment. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will start to build those combinations and be training a lot better than we are at the moment.”
