It has not taken long for Augustus Rangihuna to earn the respect of his Thunderbolts teammates and coaches.

The 18-year-old has been one of the standout performers during the early parts of pre-season training up on the Sunshine Coast.

Storm's Under-20s have been hard at work in preperation for the 2017 NYC competition, looking to build on their strong finish to last season.

Rangihuna is entering his first season with the Thunderbolts after attending prestigous rugby college Nudgee, where he captained the first XV in 2016.

When Storm came calling during the year, the exciting youngster was only too happy to listen.

“I was buzzing. When our head of rugby said they were really interested in signing me for next year ... I just knew it was a huge opportunity and not many people get to do that," Rangihuna told The Courier Mail.
