Storm fullback Billy Slater received Queensland’s Peter Jackson Medal over the weekend at the Maroons’ pre-Christmas gathering.

Slater’s outstanding contribution to the Maroons’ new-look coaching team in 2016, while he was sidelined by a season ending shoulder injury, was recognised with the award.

Darius Boyd was named the Maroons’ Player of the Series for 2016, claiming the Ron McAuliffe Medal.

He claimed the Players’ Player award in Game II and scored the crucial try that nearly snatched a remarkable win for Queensland in the final game at ANZ Stadium.
