Description –

After several seasons of being frustrated by injury north of the border, Cheyse Blair arrived in Melbourne determined to prove himself as an NRL player in 2016 and he certainly did that.

His first season with Storm proved to be the most enjoyable and consistent of his career to date.

Despite managing just 22 games in the past three seasons, Blair was able to play 17 games in the purple jersey, scoring four tries.

The 24-year-old made his debut for the Club on the wing, scoring a try in a 38-0 Round 9 win over the Titans.

He then moved into the centres on Storm’s left edge alongside Marika Koroibete where he played 13 straight games.

Blair returned to the side in Round 26 when came up with two tries against Cronulla to help seal the 2016 Minor Premiership.

The tough outside back also built a cult following amongst rugby league fans when he became the first player of the modern era to wear a long-sleeved jersey.
