Slade Griffin’s return to the Storm line-up was one of the highlights for the 2016 season.
After spending 1,056 days on the sidelines due to persistent knee injuries, Griffin finally put the purple jersey back on in Round 15 against the Dragons.
The 25-year-old started in the second row, playing a total of 45 minutes and making 33 tackles.
A utility player who can step also in a lock and hooker, Griffin showed plenty of positive signs playing out the remainder of the season for feeder side Easts Tigers.
He was rewarded with a one-year contract extension and will head into pre-season training looking for a greater taste of first grade action in 2017.
