More than 180 guests including players, partners and sponsors packed the Lakehouse to see Storm bound Sunshine Coast Falcons halfback Ryley Jacks awarded the prestigious James Ackerman Medal after a fantastic season in the black and gold.

On Tuesday, Storm announced the signing of the young playmaker following his standout Intrust Super Cup season with the Falcons.

James Ackerman’s father Michael and brothers Tom and Drew presented the award to the halfback while Sonya (mother of James) watched from the crowd last Friday night.

Alex Bishop was judged Back of the Year for a sensational debut season for the Falcons while inspirational captain Troy Giess was awarded Best Forward of the Year.

At Melbourne Storm's Player of the Year Awards the following evening (Saturday 8 October) Storm listed forward Joe Stimson was awarded the Club's inaugural Feeder Team Player of the Year Award following a strong first full season of senior football.
