We’ve had to wait all year but this week Friday night rugby league finally returns to Melbourne.
For just the second time in two years Storm will run onto AAMI Park under the bright lights of Friday night football.
They will take on arch-rivals Brisbane with plenty at stake.
Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Broncos, Friday 26 August, 7:30pm.
Storm love the Friday night stage, history proves that.
The Club has played 70 games in total for 47 wins, 22 losses and a draw.
That is a winning percentage of 67% with Storm winning six of their last seven Friday night games.
Nearly 20% of those 70 games have been played against one opposition – the Brisbane Broncos.
Storm holds a clear advantage in the Friday night head-to-head, winning 10 of 13 games against Wayne Bennett’s side.
Melbourne have also won their last seven consecutive games against the Broncos on a Friday night.
The Broncos are the Friday night specialists having played 38 games over the last three seasons in this time slot. Storm have played just eight over the same period of time.
The Broncos must win to remain in the hunt for a top four finish while a victory for Storm will see the Club capture their first minor premiership since 2011.
The last nine Friday night games held in Melbourne have attracted an average crowd of more than 21,300 fans.
This week’s installment is set to see another big crowd flock to AAMI Park to watch two arch rivals take centre stage with everything to play for.
