- Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, Qld

Melbourne Storm have put in a Friday night special to remember, blitzing the Broncos 48-6 at Suncorp Stadium.

It was Storm's 10th win from 11 games over Brisbane and the Club's seventh straight at the venue.

Yet another resolute defensive effort was back up with a clinical attack that put on a first half show to leave the home side stunned.

Storm scored five tries in just 19 minutes to take a 30-6 lead into the break and from there the men in purple never looked back.

Cooper Cronk was best afield with five try assists as he treated the 44,519-strong crowd to a true masterclass.

Suliasi Vunivalu was on the end of three of those assists as he scored what was already the second hat-trick of his 10-game career.

Cheyse Blair also added a double while Cameron Smith was simply perfection with the boot, slotting all eight of his conversions.

The opening 13 minutes were played almost entirely in the Broncos attacking end as Storm had just 32% of possession and were forced to make nine tackles inside their own 20.

However as it has done so often this season the purple wall stood strong and once they weathered the early onslaught the rewards well and truly came.

With a beautiful set play that left a gaping hole in the Broncos defence, Storm were able to score from their first foray forward.

Cooper Cronk found Kevin Proctor with a short cut out pass and the Melbourne boys were on their way.

After the Bromwich boys combined to send Jesse breaking through to the Broncos' 30m line, Cronk sensed the opposing line was caught short to the right.

He directed the football that way and Ryan Morgan finished off the move as he bulldozed over the line for Storm's second.

It appeared the mercurial Melbourne halfback had the ball on a string and as if to prove it he used his boot to set up his side's third try inside eight minutes.

Cronk placed the grubber kick into the path of Suliasi Vunivalu who streaked passed Kodi Nikorima to make it an 18-point lead.

Storm's left side soon joined the party when Blake Green faked right then went left to wrong foot the Broncos defence and send Cheyse Blair over to score.

Already successful on the ground, the Cronk-Vunivalu combination decided to take to the air. The Flying Fijian lived up to his name, out leaping his opponents to collect and ground over the line all in one motion.

Cameron Smith then added the conversion to make it five from five for the skipper and a 30-point lead for his side.

A perfect first half display was slightly dampened on the stroke of half-time as James Roberts turned on his speed to burst through and get the home side on the board.

The start in the second half was crucial and Storm were again good enough to answer the call – first in defence and then up the other end.

It was Green's turn to show his class with the boot, placing a beautifully weighted chip chick into the path of Marika Koroibete who swooped in and silence Suncorp Stadium.

Vunivalu then put his aerobatics on show once again to make it a hat-trick before Cheyse Blair added his second to make it a night Storm fans will not forget for some time.
