Craig Bellamy remains “more hopeful than confident” of having Cameron Munster and Blake Green available for this Friday night’s blockbuster against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
Both players were late exclusions from the Storm side who recorded a 29-20 win over Wests Tigers at AAMI Park on Sunday.
Green has missed the last thee games with a calf injury while Munster has been sidelined for two weeks with a rolled ankle.
Be at AAMI Park when we take on the Roosters, Saturday 23 July, 7:30pm.
“We thought we’d have them today (Sunday v Wests Tigers)… we thought we’d have them last week too,” Storm coach Craig Bellamy said.
“We just need to see how they progress. They are probably not quite as good as we thought or hope they’d be and with a five day turnaround we are probably more hopeful than confident I’d say.”
Green’s absence saw Tohu Harris having to shift once against from his customary second row position.
The Kiwi Mr. Fix-it showed he was more than up to the task, finishing the game with a try and an assist to go along with his 120 metres.
As impressive as Harris was in a playmaking role, Bellamy admits he would prefer to have a more settled side.
“We’d like to have Greeny back without a doubt. That would take a little bit of a load off Cooper and also gets Tohu back into the position that he is best suited in,” Bellamy said.
“We’d love to have him back, we’d love to have Munster back too. Whether we have them back or not we will see later on in the week.”
