Melbourne Storm and Tigerair Australia have today announced a five-year sponsorship extension of their partnership, as the Club’s official airline partner.

The extended agreement runs from 2016 until the conclusion of the 2020 NRL season, extending Tigerair Australia and Melbourne Storm’s partnership into an eighth consecutive season.

To celebrate the announcement, a Tigerair Australia A320 aircraft was unveiled at Melbourne Airport today, re-badged with Melbourne Storm livery and officially named after Storm, Australian and Queensland skipper Cameron Smith.

As part of the agreement, the Tigerair logo will retain its position on the lower back of the team playing jersey during the 2016 season, with Tigerair’s on-field presence to increase during the 2017-2020 seasons.

As well as high profile branding on-field, Tigerair Australia will continue to provide a range of dynamic and innovative game-day activations for Storm fans attending games at AAMI Park, including the Tigerair blimp, flight voucher giveaways and appearances by Toby the Tigerair mascot.

Melbourne Storm CEO Dave Donaghy said:

“Tigerair has been a wonderful addition to the Melbourne Storm family and we thank them for the support and confidence in extending for another five seasons.”

Be there in Round 1 on Monday 7 March at AAMI Park.

“The outstanding growth and success achieved by Tigerair is a credit to the vision, dedication and hard work of Rob and his team- values that are intrinsic to Melbourne Storm as well.”

“We look forward to working with Tigerair to deliver exciting new experiences and opportunities to Storm fans and members across Australia.  Storm is proudly Victorian with national appeal, as is Tigerair. It is a very exciting partnership for us.”

Tigerair Australia CEO Rob Sharp said the partnership with the iconic Melbourne Storm was a great fit reflecting a shared culture and many opportunities for both parties.

“We’re thrilled to be further cementing our association with one of the most successful sporting teams in Australia.”

“Over the past three years the partnership has proved to be a great fit for Tigerair Australia.  Tigerair Australia and Melbourne Storm are both proudly Victorian and we look forward to a stronger and even more successful partnership with the Storm over the coming five years.”

“Innovation is a key cornerstone of the Tigerair brand, as it is for Melbourne Storm and that will continue to be a focus during the upcoming NRL season.”

Tigerair and Melbourne Storm will continue to interact with fans through special offers and deals to encourage them to support Tigerair so they can see their team in action more often.
