Storm launches Get Your Storm On Membership campaign

Melbourne Storm has launched its 2016 Membership Campaign right on time for the start of pre-season training.

The Membership campaign, epitomised by the Club’s new tagline, Get Your Storm On, brings to life the passion and loyalty of being a Storm member.

Created in partnership with Spike Creative, Get Your Storm On draws inspiration from the sense of pride and excitement Storm members have in their Club – Victoria’s one and only National Rugby League team. It will also work to encourage sports fans in Melbourne and greater Victoria to get behind Storm’s pursuit of the 2016 NRL title and become a Member – regardless of allegiances in other codes.

Melbourne Storm CEO Dave Donaghy said: “Get Your Storm On Melbourne and Victoria, 2016 is going to be an exciting year for Storm and the NRL in general, as we look to build on a remarkable 2015 season.

“I’m very proud of our Club and excited by a new season looming – I know Storm members are too. There’s never been a better time than right now to get on board and join Storm.

“We came so close to reaching the decider – what a game that was – and I’ve no doubt Craig Bellamy, Cameron Smith and the entire team and football department will leave no stone unturned in getting us back there. We achieved a record membership last year and I’m confident we’ll better that again next year.”

Spike Creative Director Paul Marcolin said, “Spike Creative are genuinely excited to work with such a great and iconic brand, and to be given a licence to produce a campaign that is creative, fresh and engaging for not only passionate Storm fans, but all Melburnians.

“Good collaboration and confidence in each other is essential to achieving successful outcomes with any campaign – and this is something we are pleased to say, has been present since the start of our working relationship with the whole Melbourne Storm organisation.”

Get Your Storm On will continue to evolve and engage members and fans as key components of the campaign are rolled out leading into the NRL season kick-off in March.

The campaign will be led by television and digital executions as well as print and radio advertising, which will further bring to life the Get Your Storm On stories.

The integrated campaign is designed to inspire Melbournians to support the Club through membership, retail and game day attendance.

The campaign also coincides with the Club’s announcement on Wednesday morning of a five year partnership with innovative manufacturer STAR, to produce Storm’s on-field playing and training kit.

To launch the new STAR range the Club is offering a special Member Merchandise offer. Fans who become a 2016 member will have the opportunity to receive special member pricing on a range of new merchandise items until Monday 30 November, including the member-only price of $120 for the new home and away jerseys.

Fullback Billy Slater leads the way as one of the first players to start pre-season training this week. He is joined by recruits Matt White, Cheyse Blair and Curtis Scott as well as Slade Griffin, Joe Stimson, Tony Tumusa and Suliasi Vunivalu. It’s the earliest Slater has started training since early in his career, with his experience and knowledge to be of benefit to the new and young members of the group.
