Easts Tigers played out an exciting draw while the Sunshine Coast Falcons fell narrowly short in Papua New Guinea in Round 19 of the Intrust Super Cup.

Tigers, Blackhawks play thrilling draw

Easts Tigers and the Townsville Blackhawks played out a thrilling 40-40 draw on Sunday afternoon at Langlands Park.

In a see-sawing battle with the momentum shifting constantly between the two sides, a late Tigers try scored off a short re-start allowed the hosts to tie the scores at the death and share the points with Townsville.

Earlier, Easts had jumped out to a 10-point lead before it was reigned in by the Blackhawks who took control and gained the ascendency during the second half of play.

Storm listed forwards Felise Kaufusi and Francis Tualau featured in the free flowing contest with playmaker Shaun Nona also influential, scoring a try and kicking six goals.
