Cameron Smith will join Darren Lockyer as the most capped Origin player of all time on Wednesday night when he leads Queensland onto Suncorp Stadium.

The Queensland Captain will make his 36th appearance for the Maroons, 12 years after earning his Origin debut in 2003.

Smith will be placed alongside Lockyer at the top of rugby league's elite, sitting ahead of Origin greats Allan Langer, Petero Civoniceva, Mel Meninga, Brad Fittler and Wally Lewis.

The 32-year old has been an integral part of an impressive eight Queensland State of Origin series victories however it is not only in the Origin arena where Smith has excelled. Throughout his illustrious career, the Logan Brothers junior has represented his country on 43 occasions and made 298 first-grade appearances for Melbourne Storm.
