Melbourne Storm has re-signed young and exciting forward Felise Kaufusi until the end of 2017.

The Bundaberg Brothers junior made his NRL debut in Round 1 and has played 13 games this season in an important impact role off the bench.

His debut came after an impressive 2014 season at reserve grade level with Easts Tigers, where he also earned selection in the Queensland Residents representative side.

The 23-year old front-rower is in his second year with Storm following three seasons with the North Queensland Cowboys.

Melbourne Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi expressed delight on re-signing Kaufusi.

“Felise is a very good young player who we believe can play regular first grade football,” Ponissi said.

“He attracted a number of other offers, so we are very pleased he has decided to stay with Melbourne Storm and the next two years allows the Club to continue to develop him into a consistent NRL player.

“His signing is great news for Melbourne Storm for now and for the future.”
