Thunderbolts captain Joe Stimson has been selected for New South Wales's U20 side to take on Queensland next week.

Stimson was the Thunderbolts' best forward in 2014 and has lead the Storm U20 side on seven occasions this year. He has also stepped up to reserve-grade level, featuring three times for Storm feeder side Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Intrust Super Cup.

The Temora Dragons junior links up with the U20 Blues in the same week as another Temora local, Storm utility Ryan Hinchcliffe joins Laurie Daley's senior New South Wales squad as injury cover.

The 19-year old spent time training with the Club's senior players during pre-season and will join Melbourne's first-grade NRL squad in 2016, adding youth and depth to Craig Bellamy's forward stocks.

Stimson completed his schooling at St. Gregory's College in Campbelltown, the same school as former Storm 200-game forward Ryan Hoffman.

The U20s State of Origin match will be played at Suncorp Stadium on July 8 as the curtain raiser to the Origin decider between New South Wales and Queensland.
