An eight try performance helped Melbourne's U20 Thunderbolts to an impressive victory over Cronulla at AAMI Park on Saturday evening.

Recording their second win of the 2015 campaign, Marc Brentnall's side responded well to conceding the lead and an early try just three minutes into the contest. Taking just four minutes to level the scores, the Thunderbolts crossed for four more tries in the opening 40 minutes of play to take a commanding lead at the main break.

As they did in the opening stanza, Melbourne let the Sharks in early in the second half but were determined not to give the visitors a taste of victory.

Three tries in eight minutes to the Thunderbolts ended Cronulla's hopes of a come from behind victory with Latrell Robinson, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Zion Ioka all getting across the try line.

Melbourne's 44 points came from eight individual try scorers and six goals from five-eighth Mack Mason, highlighting a true team performance from the young Storm outfit.

This weekend the Thunderbolts will take on the U20 Cowboys in Townsville. The match will be played on Saturday 28 March, kicking-off from 3pm at Townsville Brothers FC.
