Craig Bellamy is looking for his side to minimise 'simple' errors ahead of their trip to Manly to face the Sea Eagles on Saturday.

The Storm coach praised Melbourne's defensive effort against the Dragons in their season opener last weekend but knows they must make improvements with the ball in hand in Round 2.

"We were rusty with the footy, we made a whole heap of errors. Hopefully we can improve in that area," Bellamy said.

"Defensively the effort was great, St.George had a lot of the footy so they put a fair bit of pressure on us there.

"We defended for long periods of time, that could have taken away from our attack a little bit but we still don't expect those simple errors we made with the footy so that is something we'll be looking to correct tomorrow night."
