Centre Will Chambers will lead Storm at next week's Auckland Nines as the Club embarks on the second edition of the innovative tournament.

Melbourne will face the Cowboys, Panthers and Rabbitohs in the pool stage of the tournament with Captain Chambers leading a young 18-man squad to Auckland next weekend.

Speaking to Storm TV, the 26-year old Queensland representative shared his excitement ahead of the tournament.

"I'm looking forward to it a lot," Chambers said.

"It's obviously an exciting style of footy. We all look forward to it and it gives us an end to the pre-season."

Chambers also explained next week's Nines would be a good chance to see some of the Club's up and coming young prospects first hand for fans.

"We've got some talented young kids coming through," Chambers said.

"It's good for our supporters to see some of the young kids coming through.

"We're obviously going to try and play a bit expansive and see how we go."
